Sgt. Joey Bozik

Sgt. Joey Bozik Joey Bozik was riding in the passenger seat of a Hummer in Iraq when the front tire ran over a bomb planted by insurgents. Joey lost both legs and one arm, and now uses a wheelchair or prosthetic legs to get around. But that hasn't stopped him from becoming the Sentinels of Freedom Ambassador, or kept him off the golf course.

Joey's recovery took more than a year at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC - where he underwent several surgeries and months of therapy. Although he's originally from North Carolina, Joey and his wife Jayme decided to relocate to Danville, CA. when they entered the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Program.

Wells Fargo offered Joey an opportunity for a career in personal banking, and he excelled in that position. Now, Joey has taken on the very demanding role of Sentinels of Freedom Ambassador, and he's traveling the country to spread the word about this unique program.

In his off-hours, Joey is a die-hard football fan and an avid golfer. His specially equipped minivan, provided by Stead Motors, is perfect for towing his adapted golf cart. He and Jayme live in an apartment donated by Castle Construction.
