Jonathan Chase Gean

Jonathan Chase Gean Jonathan Chase Gean - known to his family and friends as Chase - was serving in Afghanistan when his unit was ambushed. The Americans were with a squad of Afghanistan soldiers near the Pakistan border when the Afghans left them near a village. Sniper fire rang out soon after.

Chase was hit in the back about a half inch below his body armor. The bullet did not hit his spine, but did sever nerves and caused swelling that has left him paralyzed from the waist down. Chase is now in a wheelchair.

Originally from the small Kansas town of Protection, Chase is now living in the Denver metro area with his fiancée Shannon. The couple is considering a Las Vegas wedding. Chase wants to get an education degree and teach high school American History. He is right now working at RE/MAX International, Inc., and taking classes on line with Jones International University.
